ABOUT THE SPEAKER

"I have learned that kids want to talk about the issues around drugs and alcohol. Having worked with
kids and substance abuse for many years, if they believe the adult they are talking with
is honest, straightforward, knowledgeable and does not preach to them, they will open up to you"

"I am a former Special Agent of 25 years with the U. S. Drug Enforcement Administration. My last six years with the DEA I headed the New York Office, DEA's largest. In all of my experience I have learned three absolute facts, which many Americans fail to understand. First, law enforcement will never make drugs completely unavailable in the U. S. Second, most adults know almost nothing about the world of kids and drugs (how many of us know what Special K and Roofies are?). And third, drugs are devastating our communities, homes and workplaces, and we fail to deal with this in a way that will make any substantial change."

What They Say About Bob . . .

"I have been to several drug prevention seminars, but have never been moved the way I was during your presentation. Your blunt, honest manner really drives home the gravity of this situation. I am convinced so many of our parents here are in the dark about how big this problem really is in our community. As you stated yourself, I think parents here think of drugs as an inner city problem and not one that continues to kill in our own backyard" ---Katie LaGrone, Senior Reporter ABC 7 News, Fort Myers, FL

"He has an astounding impact. He lives and breathes this. I think that is why he has such an effect." ---Parent quote following a recent presentation in Naples, FL

"A hard-hitting, no-nonsense leader, committed to solving the drug epidemic. Few people make more sense on the issue of substance abuse than Bob Stutman. His impact is enormous." ---Dr. Carol Sager, former Superintendent of Schools & selected as one of the top 100 educators in the US by Scholastic Magazine.

Background

He talks honestly about the effects of the most popular street drugs such as Ecstasy, Ketamine, Cocaine, Oxycontin, Marijuana, etc., even if you got the right stuff. Most importantly, he discusses these issues in a straightforward manner based on his 25 years with the DEA, including five years living undercover.

After 25 years as a DEA Agent, rising to the head of the New York Office, Bob wrote his autobiography "Dead on Delivery", a best-seller published by Warner Books. He is the drug consultant for both PBS and CBS News, and is considered the "foremost expert on the drug issue" by Governor Mario Cuoma. Bob regularly appears on national TV including 60 Minutes, the Geraldo Rivera Show, Today, and has spoken in 73 countries concerning drugs. Statistics

With only 4% of the world's population, the United States consumes 60% of the world's drugs. We see this play out in our teenagers, given, in 13 years their illegal drug use has doubled and high school students are now describing their schools as :drug infested".

Almost 50% of college students binge drink and/or abuse drugs every month; that 23% of college students (3 times the national average) would be diagnosed as drug or alcohol dependent and that 5 college students die daily from the direct effects of alcohol.
